What to Bring to Camp

Each room has a small refrigerator and microwave.

You should bring:

  • Fan (highly recommended as rooms are not air-conditioned)
  • Pillow and pillowcase
  • Blankets or sleeping bag (twin bed size) (flat sheet provided)
  • Soap, toiletries
  • Washcloths, towels, shower shoes
  • Refillable water bottle to fill at water stations
  • Headphones for music
  • Alarm clock
  • Sunscreen and/or hat
  • Summer clothing suitable for hot weather
  • Jacket/clothing for cool evenings
  • Rain gear
  • Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes (campus is large and campers will be doing lots of walking. Sneakers are highly encouraged, especially since one of the sites we may visit requires closed-toe shoes)
  • Credit/debit card for impromptu walks with the counselors to Berkey Creamery, snacks from the vending machines, or shopping for souvenirs (optional—meals and snacks are provided. Campus is cashless, so a debit/credit card is required for purchases.)
  • Clothes hangers
  • Prescription and over-the-counter medications (in original container)
  • Masks (optional)

Do NOT bring:

  • a personal laptop (campers will use campus computer facilities, if needed)
  • valuables — Penn State is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items
